Little Red Playhouse, a school for autistic children, wins eviction reprieve
February 25, 2016
A Montreal West school for children with autism has been spared from eviction and will be able to stay for at least another year.
The Little Red Playhouse was at risk of being kicked out of its premises as early as April.
The school occupies an old caretaker’s house next to Elizabeth Ballantyne Elementary School, which is owned by the English Montreal School Board. The board wants to sell it for $600,000.
The case went to court, but both parties came to an agreement in principle to let the school stay until June 30, 2017.
